Alix M Leconte

I'm pleased to share September's "Peer to Pier" interview, with Bonnie Gisel, a John Muir scholar and author of three books on his life. Bonnie is also curator of the LeConte Memorial Lodge in Yosemite National Park. Bonnie touched on many themes, one of many being the sense of awe and inter-connectedness that Nature inspires. Laying down their trademark | | | | vocals over some churning bass and intricate | | | | drum work, this is one stepper that'll send | | | | any dance floor into the red whatever the | | | | weather. | | | | | | | | Next up "Behind Time" runs off with an intro | | | | oozing electro influences from every pore | | | | before a earth-shaking bassline cascades in | | | | to devour us with carniverous precision. | | | | Theres a little respite with the return of | | | | those opening synths but before long its back | | | | to beats as only Perez knows how. | | | | | | | | Then its time for a dreamteam collaboration | | | | with everyones favourite Dutchmen Noisia, and | | | | naturally, it doesnt disappoint. "Loose Ends" | | | | is a lesson in nu-skool tech-infused D&B | | | | ready to slice up dance floors absolutely | | | | everywhere. A proper war-face track for those | | | | seeking maximum enemy infiltration. | | | | | | | | "Menacing Ways" as the name suggests carries | | | | on the nasty EP-wide vibe with a totally | | | | runnin excursion of fly bass, scattering | | | | percussion, heavy kicks and that all- | | | | important Alix Perez groove to round off an | | | | amazing EP that shows the producer in a whole | | | | new refreshing light.
