5.18.10 | Track and Field Ten Baker track and field athletes headed to nationalsAaron Hannon will look to bring home a National Championship in the decathlon. BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - The Baker University men's and women's outdoor track and field teams will have 10 representatives at the 2010 NAIA Track and Field National Championships held at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind., May 27-29. Competing for the men are Kome Okiomah (100m, 4x100), JL Anderson (400 Hurdles, 4x100), Aaron Hannon (decathlon), Reggie Harris (4x100), Jeremiah May (javelin), Travis Miller (high jump) and Devin Wilson (4x100). The women are Carrie Lister (shot put), Kayla Irwin (pole vault) and Aubree Gustin (javelin). The mens 4x100 relay team is currently ranked No. 5 nationally after winning two weeks ago at the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championships with a season-best time of 41.29. Senior Aaron Hannon will enter the meet ranked No. 1 nationally in the decathlon. Hannon won the grueling, 10-event decathalon at the Kansas Relays three weeks ago, finishing with a career-best 6,948 points, outdistancing Nebraskas Teran Walford (6,785) and Arkansas States Taylor Short (6,413). Hannon could join elite company with a strong performance. Palmer Mai '54 took the crown in the 220 hurdles at the NAIA Track and Field National Championships June 5-6, 1953 in Abilene, Texas. We could come home with a number of All-Americans, Kindler said.
