HBO Films is developing the as yet untitled television biopic. Director Spike Lee will be at the helm, while John Ridley is attached to write the script. Murphy, Lee and Ridley are also set as executive producers of the project, the Washington Post reported.

while watching the so called NEW 4 ed sullivan shows with the beatles released yesterday, that i got in 2003, i noticed that on disk 2 was a comedian named dave barry. i know alot of you like this guy from past posts and thought i'd mention it. also on this 2 dvd set is the 1st appearance of the beatles that has the broadway group from the show "Oliver" doing a song featuring a young Davey Jones that later became a "Monkee". it's all black & white and most other performers can easily be skipped over. the comedy acts were ok for that time, but not today. the commercials are classic, but who the hell wants to see commercials? if you are a fan, it's worth the new price of $12 on amazon for the beatles alone.

We have a fondness for Commodore computers (as you've probably noticed by now) and we are psyched that Commodore USA is still flying the flag for the once-ubiquitous brand, but as they always are in this biz, things are a little... complicated. We were first contacted way back in March when the company shared the news that it had acquired the rights to sell PCs under the name. Then what happened? Turns out this was not exactly the case... although CEO Barry Altman assured us that they were on their way towards hammering out a deal. And here we are, in possession of a press release saying that indeed, Commodore USA, LLC, and Commodore Licensing B.V. have finally come to an agreement, meaning that your subsequent purchases will at least come with a Commodore decal. But that ain't all! This also paves the way for the company's newest offering, the Commodore PC64, an Intel Atom-powered PC featuring 4GB DDR3 memory, SATA 1TB HDD, HDMI output, optical drive (either DVD/CD or optional Blu-ray), and more -- all in "an exact replica" of the original beige C64 chassis. Of course, doing any significant amount of work with the original Commodore keyboard will probably be a challenge, but we like to think we're up to it. As always, we'll believe it when we see it, but in the meantime we'd like to be the first to formally request a review unit. If everything goes according to plan, this bad boy should be out in time for the holidays. He's the president and it's our job to keep him honest. But when it comes to voting, when we only have two choices, you've got to grow up and realize there's a big difference between a disappointing friend and a deadly enemy. Of course the Democrats are disappointing. That's what makes them Democrats. If they were any more frustrating they'd be your relatives. But in this country they are all that stands between you and darkest night. You know why their symbol is the letter "D"? Because it's a grade that means good enough, but just barely. You know why the Republican symbol is "R"? Because it's the noise a pirate makes when he robs you and feeds you to a shark. The truth is the Democratic base is still way larger than the Republican base. The reason why they're losing is something called the enthusiasm gap. Yeah. And the voters that Obama and the Democrats have really lost are the women. Women like Velma Hart are just not getting enough love from the president. So tonight I thought I'd try to make their fantasies come true and speak to you as Barack Obama's alter ego, Barry Whitehouse.

HBO Films is developing an untitled television biopic centered on former Washington D.C. Mayor Marion Barry, whom Murphy would play should the project move forward, a source confirms to The Hollywood Reporter.
