If anyone had a better 2011 than Louis C.K., it was probably his fans: between Season 2 of "Louie," a bunch of smart and funny articles, and a hilarious standup special for only $5, fans got more than they could ask for from the insanely prolific comedian. But one fan got the ultimate gift on New Year's Day when the comedian wrote him a personal autograph that's characteristically hilarious and genuine.

Much has been made of the success of Louis C.K.’s self-released video special, but Jessica Lee examines it as a social media marketing campaign, chalking his success up to one ingredient that’s often missing in marketing: trust.

It turns out that another comedy legend is responsible for fixing C.K.'s act: George "Seven Words You Can Never Say on Television" Carlin.
