Just hours after Saturday’s tragic shooting incident in Tucson, Arizona,

U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords is doing “remarkably well,” doctors said Wednesday. The congresswoman is undergoing intense physical therapy, and is recovering at “lightning speed.”

My name is Carolyn, and I have raised three daughters, and have three grandcildren, I own a floral and design business, and I love helping people. I have been doing volunteer work since I was 14-my very first fundraising project was to earn money for a walk-a-thon I walked in in the spring of 1977, and I raised a whopping $37.00! Minimum wage was around $2.00 an hour back then. Over the years, I have volunteered to work with youth including being the head of my church youth board, been a Sunday school and summer bible school teacher, a church council member, cooked for thousands of people, volunteered countless hours tutoring Reading and Math with elementary age kids, helped raise money for so many church functions that I lost count years ago, and in recent years, I have been an active member of my local historical society, where I have gathered historical information as well as help organized our annual fundraiser. What I am most proud of is that each of my three daughters has thought so much of me over the years that they have asked, many, many times, if a troubled friend could come to our home to talk to me and spend time with our family. Absolutely! We have an open door policy in our home for those who are troubled and will always listen.

I am also a member of Phi Theta Kappa(the honor society of the two year college), The National Association of Professional Women, and Who's Who among Professional Women and Entrpreneurs,and I am a moderator/community leader on the largest business social media site, Merchant Circle. I enjoy reading, walking, bicycling, visiting botanical gardens, museums, libraries, zoos, and the ballet; and listening to music and eating great food.
