Port Douglas Garden Festival, Singer/ Songwriter Competition
Written by Kevin, K-Star, Eldridge, In what promises to be a fantastic opportunity for the youth of the Port Douglas area and surrounds, the burgeoning Garden Festival, an initiative of the Port Douglas Community Garden, has created a Youth Singer/Songwriter Comp. Sponsored by Origin Espresso and to be held on the Festival date of 24th March, this event gives the less age-challenged of us out there the chance to showcase their talent in front of a big crowd, get prizes of recording time, radio airplay and cold hard cash. Plan a trip to the Garden Festival? Why not? Woot toot!

Why do we do it? This week, my eldest daughter texted me from Notting Hill tube station to say she had seen “two estate agents in branded shirts trying to hand apples to disinterested commuters, extraordinary!” Interesting, certainly. No sooner did I get into my office than I picked up a magazine featuring a picture of a rival estate agent across the street from the apple givers with all their staff lined up on the pavement alongside giant red letters (an idea incidentally that D&G ran in our 2008 corporate campaign but they do say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery). You may ask have these people all gone insane? No, they are simply trying to be different. Does it work, I hear you ask. What is the point of it? Well, for a start, even though they are direct competitors of mine, I am writing about them now.

Port Douglas Heat and Zinc Restaurant
http://bit.ly/tK8wNX Written by Guy Besley, Latitude Resorts, Port Douglas , Good morning all, well its another stinker in Far North Queensland today. A couple of days peaking at 34 degrees on the way, oh, not to mention a bit of humidity. So what to do, the tides are full during the day, well get down to Zinc Restaurant and try out their lounge, as you can see by this simple image posted by Marco from Zinc Restaurant on Facebook yesterday, that it certainly looks appealing to have a cleansing ale or three to ward off the heat. By the way, if you take my solid advice and go and have a beer at Zinc be sure to check out the toilets..... You have to see those, WOW.. Till tomorrow, Mmmmm Beer, Zinc Restaurants Lounge bar. port_douglas_121211.wmv Watch on Posterous
